What's the best gas pressure washer on the market? It's the pressure washer that best suits your budget and all of your outdoor cleaning projects!
By following my gas pressure washer checklist, you'll be able to choose a unit that easily & reliably tackles your cleaning jobs, for years, without overspending your hard-earned money.
And you can check out my top gas pressure washer recommendation: the Generac 6596 on Amazon.
As you probably already know, cold water washers with axial cam pumps account for 98% of the gas pressure washer units sold to homeowners. They are tough, reliable washers that will last for years with proper maintenance.
When you shop for one of these gas pressure washers, the first thing you should keep in mind is the PSI of any unit you're considering. PSI (Pounds per Square Inch) means the amount of pressure, or force, of the water that the pump can produce. The higher the PSI, the stronger force -- and the higher the cleaner power. You can clean faster with a unit that has a high PSI rating.
My #1 best gas washer recommendation is the Generac 6596 washer that's available on Amazon.
Hands-down, it's my top all-around best gas washer choice. It has a quality Generac engine, an axial cam pump you can count on and it'll give you 2,800 PSI and 2.5 GPM. This Generac gas pressure washer has the kind of power that will easily tackle any home or yard cleaning project you have.
And this Generac 6596 also has Never Flat tires, which I love. No more flat tire hassles!
You can check Amazons price on this recommended Generac 6596 pressure washer.
Generally speaking, gas pressure washers suited for homeowners usually offer PSI ratings of 2,200 to 4,000+.
Take a minute to think about the outdoor cleaning jobs you need to tackle.
Do you want to wash a car or RV? Clean an average sized deck or patio? Do you need to clean brick walls or vinyl siding? Do you plan to use your gas pressure washer about once a month - or less? Then you'll want to consider a unit with 2,200 PSI to 2,900 PSI.
Or do you want to strip paint? Clean oversized decks or patios? Do you think you'll use your gas pressure washer at least few times a month? Then you'll want to consider a unit with 3,000 PSI to 4,000+ PSI.
The second thing you want to think about is the pressure washer engine. You'll see that you can buy a cheap gas pressure washer with a no-name or generic engine. But keep in mind that a brand name engine, like Subaru, Generac, Kohler and Honda, are built to run longer. A better value over the long haul. And brand names engines are backed up with better warranty protections, just in case.
The third thing you want to consider is the gas washer pump. The pump beats like a heart to pressurize the water - and it works very hard. You'll see less expensive units that have no-name or generic pumps. But just like no-name engines, they aren't built well enough to last for years. I truly recommend a brand name pump like CAT, General, AR and Comet. A brand name pump also offers you a warranty, which can be important, in my experience.
If you follow this checklist, you'll be able to pick out the best gas pressure washer for your cleaning projects and your budget!
